New York City

First of all, I'd like to start off by apologising for my absence from posting lately, I've been fairly busy, as you can probably guess by the title, I went to New York recently, so decided, I was past due a new post, so what better to post about? I'll be summarising what I did, meaning you can see if you ever get a chance to visit, what the best things to do in NYC are and if not, a personal view of the oh so incredible city. I'd also like to say, if it isn't obvious, I completely recommend that you visit NYC, it was completely and utterly majestic and I had such an incredible time in The Big Apple.

Day 1

Looking well chuffed to land, no makeup, hair in a state, yet we couldn't care less! We were in NYC!!

After a long, tiring and quite literally painful plane journey from Manchester to New york, we were completely drained, but the second we caught sight of the magical city, our moods were instantly uplifted. I can honestly say, ever since this moment until the moment we got back on the plane back to the UK, our moods were constantly uplifted, and not even a painful 7 odd hour plane journey could get us down.

We eventually got to the hotel, Park Central, located in the middle of Times Square and Central Park, and I can quite admittedly say even the lack of sleep I had gotten couldn't keep us from lusting to wonder the streets of Manhattan. Our first trip was a walk along to Times Square, a truly wonderful square, I was in complete awe, and quite literally speechless at my surroundings. After grabbing some truly scrumptious food, American style, we headed back to the hotel to relax for preparation for another long, yet exciting day.
The real deal; New York's own Times Square

Day 2

We headed straight for the most American alike diner we could find for a properly proper American breakfast, and of course ordered pancakes with a sickening amount of toppings and regretfully could not finish, but we loved every bite of it.
Pancakes, strawberries, a sauce, and a sickening amount of butter... delicious!

We then rolled ourselves to The Empire State Building, and I can't even begin to explain the view from the breathtaking building. Hopefully you'll get an idea from this picture, although it really does not do the view justice.

New York City, from the highest point, a truly breathtaking view
After viewing the city from a breathtaking point, we decided to explore it, heading down to New York library, Grand Central Station and none other than the infamous Hard Rock Cafe, which were truly unbelievably fabulous things to experience. I absolutely fell in love with the Hard Rock Cafe, with its unbeatable thrilling vibe, I was singing my heart our to rock classics whilst eating a mouth watering worthy burger, could it get any better?

Day 3

On the 3rd day of this utterly majestic trip we spent the majority of the day shopping (of course)! Before we spent more money than we could afford, we went to visit the infamous Ground Zero and Wall Street, which was heartbreaking and quite simply life changing. The memorial of The Twin Towers was an area of complete sadness and silence, it was an amazing opportunity to witness.

After we solemnly grieved on the morning of day 3, we went straight for 5th Avenue, Times Square and Macy's to spend! The shops in New York were amazing and had so much variety within the collections of clothing! I could've only wished I had brought more money! The streets themselves were so uplifting also, with a certain buzz of thrill.

After quite literally shopping until we dropped, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for our spectacular evening at The Marriot's The View restaurant. This revolving restaurant was unimaginably amazing, I cant justify the view we had whilst enjoying our delicious meal, we got a full view of New York City and it was divine. I don't think I have ever experienced such a feeling awe, it really was unbelievable.

Day 4

The day before the last. Already we had felt like New York was home, it was such an incredible city I couldn't even bring myself to think about going home to England. On day 4, we woke up bright and early and headed down to catch the ferry to The Statue of Liberty. On this journey we got the opportunity to view the skyline of New York, get up close to Liberty herself and get a full history lesson at Ellis Island on the history of immigration.  To say the least, this particular morning was mind-blowing and incredible.

We then spent our last full day shopping even more, spending up the last few dollars we had left on typical New York souvenirs.

We later spent our last night in the magnificent city of New York City, sitting on the steps in the middle of Times Square enjoying Fro-yo and taking in the wonders of New York. (If you haven't guessed, I have sobbed a lot whilst writing this post from pure sadness of missing the majestic city).

We also decided to be the big kids that we are and spent the final hours of our night in Toys-r-us and had an hour of fun playing with the huge variety of toys. Most probably my favourite place of New York (almost).

Day 5

The possibly saddest day I have experienced in a long time, knowing that we would soon be leaving this city of dreams in a few short hours. However instead of moping we decided to spend our last few hours enjoying what the city has to offer. We spent the whole morning exploring the wonders of Central Park, a literal step across a road from the busy streets of New York into the peaceful and nature filled park. A truly magnificent step, I can tell you that. We climbed the infamous rocks and swung on the swings, and overall just enjoyed ourselves far too much.

Now, I'm officially sobbing. This trip truly was just simply incredible, if you haven't been, I apologise because I really cant justify how majestic this city of dreams really is. I am still upset about coming home and it's been over a month since visiting!

Were not happy to leave, were happy to be in JFK, just so you know.
